A shooting incident in Union City on Wednesday night has left one person dead, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities. Police responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 33500 block of 7th Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Efforts were made to save the victim’s life at the scene and during transportation to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
The identity of the deceased individual has not been released as of Thursday afternoon, however police spokesperson Sgt. Jean Jimenez confirmed that the victim was an adult.
This marks the second homicide investigation conducted by Union City police in 2023. While authorities believe the incident to be isolated, they are still working to establish a motive. No information regarding possible suspects has been disclosed at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
