F1 driver Carlos Sainz expressed his gratitude towards Milan police and the public for their assistance in apprehending the thieves who stole his luxury watch, valued at over $500,000, on Sunday. The incident occurred near the Armani hotel in Milan, hours after Sainz secured a third-place finish at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Sainz, along with his bodyguard, pursued the assailants and successfully detained them with the help of bystanders until police arrived. In a message on X, previously known as Twitter, Sainz emphasized the wellbeing of everyone involved and described the event as an “unpleasant anecdote”.

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident, as other F1 drivers, including Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris, have previously been victims of similar thefts involving high-value watches.
