Drake Bell Expresses Gratitude for Josh Peck’s Support Amidst Abuse Allegations

Drake Bell, known for his role in the popular Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh, recently opened up about the support he received from his co-star Josh Peck during a challenging time. In a podcast interview with Not Skinny But Not Fat, Bell revealed that Peck had privately reached out to him after he came forward with allegations of sexual abuse by voice coach Brian Peck, who is not related to Josh.

During the interview, Bell expressed his appreciation for Peck’s support, stating that Peck had witnessed some of the difficulties he faced while working on The Amanda Show, where both actors had been involved. Although Peck was not aware of the exact nature of the abuse at the time, he showed sensitivity and compassion towards Bell, especially after watching the documentary series Quiet on Set, where Bell shared his experiences.

Peck, who had initially taken a few days to process the revelations made in the docuseries, later expressed his support for Bell and other survivors who had come forward with stories of emotional and physical abuse on Nickelodeon sets. He emphasized the importance of protecting children and hoped that the public discussion surrounding these incidents would lead to necessary changes within the industry.

In response to criticism on social media for not speaking up earlier, Peck clarified that he had been in contact with Bell privately to offer his support and help him navigate through this challenging period. Bell, in turn, urged fans to respect their privacy, acknowledging the emotional toll of the situation.

It is worth noting that Brian Peck, the voice coach accused of sexual abuse, was arrested in 2003 and later pleaded no contest to two charges of child sexual abuse. He served a 16-month jail sentence and is registered as a sex offender.
