San Jose police have apprehended and charged Luis Carrillo-Moyeda, the owner of a Yum Yum Donuts franchise in South San Jose, for allegedly producing and distributing a synthetic drug known as “pink cocaine.” The arrest came after authorities received a tip regarding illegal narcotics manufacturing and sales taking place at Carrillo-Moyeda’s business located in the 400 block of Blossom Hill Road, near Snell Avenue.
On January 19, detectives and special-operations officers executed search warrants at both the donut shop and Carrillo-Moyeda’s residence in South San Jose. During the operation, law enforcement seized various illegal narcotics, narcotics manufacturing equipment, a significant amount of cash, an unregistered firearm, and ammunition.
The recovered narcotics were identified as a recently emerged synthetic drug that combines cocaine with substances such as ketamine, ecstasy, meth, and opioids. This dangerous concoction is known by several names, including “Tusi,” “2C,” “pink cocaine,” “Pantera Rosa,” and “Pink Panther.”
Carrillo-Moyeda was arraigned on January 24 and is scheduled to appear in court again on March 4, according to court records. Presently, he is not in custody, as indicated by jail records.

This is absolutely disgusting and infuriating! How could someone stoop so low as to use their donut shop as a front for producing and selling dangerous synthetic drugs? It’s sickening to think about the harm that could have been done to unsuspecting customers who just wanted a sweet treat. This kind of behavior not only puts lives at risk but also tarnishes the reputation of legitimate businesses. I hope Luis Carrillo-Moyeda faces severe consequences for his despicable actions.
