Disgraced Crypto Kingpin Sam Bankman-Fried Photographed with Former Bloods Gang Member in Jail

Disgraced crypto kingpin Sam Bankman-Fried has been captured in a jailhouse photo alongside a former Bloods gang member, G-Lock, following his conviction on fraud charges. The image, initially shared by crypto crime reporter Tiffany Fong on YouTube, reveals Bankman-Fried sporting shaggy hair and a beard. G-Lock, who had previously been interviewed by Fong, disclosed that the photo was taken at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY, on December 17, approximately six weeks after Bankman-Fried’s guilty verdict on seven counts of fraud and conspiracy.

In the photo, Bankman-Fried can be seen wearing an oversized T-shirt and gym shorts, while G-Lock described him as “a good guy” but also “weird as s–t” and “strange.” G-Lock further noted that Bankman-Fried’s physical appearance had changed significantly since their first encounter, stating that he had lost weight and now sported a full beard. According to Bankman-Fried’s defense attorney, Mark Cohen, the disgraced FTX boss had been subsisting on a limited diet due to the jail’s refusal to provide vegan meals.

G-Lock also revealed that Bankman-Fried appeared to be neglecting personal hygiene, as he had become scruffier and stopped showering. Despite these conditions, G-Lock emphasized that Bankman-Fried had not betrayed anyone and referred to him as a “gangster,” comparing him favorably to rapper Tekashi69, who had cooperated with authorities in exchange for a reduced sentence. G-Lock expressed his belief that Bankman-Fried should be pardoned by President Biden.

Bankman-Fried, who awaits sentencing on March 28, faces a potential sentence of up to 110 years. However, G-Lock assured that no harm had come to him while in jail. The jury, consisting of nine women and three men, reached a unanimous guilty verdict after just four hours of deliberation during the month-long trial. Bankman-Fried had taken the uncommon and risky decision to testify in his own defense.
