Glenn Thompson Braden, a 20-year-old resident of Evergreen, has been charged with five felony counts in connection to multiple lewd acts and unlawful sexual contact against several women on park trails in Jefferson County. The charges, filed by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, include four counts of unlawful sexual contact and one count of criminal attempt to commit sexual assault, all felonies. Braden is also facing nine counts of indecent exposure, a class 1 misdemeanor, along with a charge of criminal mischief, a petty offense.
The defendant is accused of engaging in these acts in eleven separate incidents between April 3 and August 8. The crimes allegedly took place on trails located in Flying J Ranch Park, Alderfer/Three Sisters Park, and Genesee Mountain Park, primarily targeting women who were hiking alone. Braden was apprehended after an incident was reported, leading to a brief pursuit near Stapleton Drive in Genesee Park.
Braden appeared in court on Friday, where he was informed of the felony charges against him. His bond has been set at $100,000. During the investigation, Braden reportedly admitted to feeling a compulsion to commit these acts, according to an arrest affidavit. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 17.
