Davis County Man Pleads Guilty to Torturing Guinea Pig and Posting Videos Online

In a shocking case of animal cruelty, Samuel J. Webster, a 20-year-old resident of Farmington, Davis County, has pleaded guilty to torturing a defenseless guinea pig and sharing the horrifying footage on the popular video-sharing platform, YouTube. This heinous act has sent shockwaves through the community and has gained the attention of the U.S. Department of Justice.

According to court documents, Webster purposefully engaged in what officials have referred to as “animal crushing,” inflicting multiple methods of serious bodily injury on the innocent guinea pig. Disturbingly, Webster admitted to buying the guinea pig from a local pet store with the sole intent of causing harm, recording the acts, and uploading them to YouTube for others to witness.

Webster’s actions came to light when concerned individuals stumbled upon his graphic videos with titles such as “Guinea Pig Torture” and “Torture is Fun.” The FBI Salt Lake Field Office swiftly initiated an investigation into the matter, taking the offense of animal cruelty seriously.

After being indicted on nearly two dozen felony counts related to distributing these disturbing videos of guinea pig abuse online, Webster has now entered a guilty plea. He has been charged with distribution of an animal crushing video, a crime that carries significant legal repercussions.

The court has set Webster’s sentencing date for December 11, 2023, at the prestigious Orrin G. Hatch U.S. District Courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The severity of his actions and the public outcry they have generated demonstrate the need for justice to be served.

Animal cruelty is a grave offense that must be addressed and eradicated from our society. The fact that Webster derived pleasure from inflicting pain on a defenseless creature defies all notions of compassion and empathy. It is essential for concerned citizens to report any instances of animal cruelty to the relevant authorities or contact the FBI’s dedicated hotline at 1-800-FBI to ensure that such heinous acts do not go unpunished.

Let this appalling case serve as a reminder of the importance of protecting and respecting all living beings. Our collective duty lies in creating a society that values and safeguards the welfare of animals, where acts of cruelty have no place.
