Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly facing adultery allegations after hugging a female fan during a visit to Iran last month. The incident occurred when Ronaldo met with fans before a game in Iran on September 19. Painter Fatima Hamami presented Ronaldo with an ultra-realistic painting of him, and during the encounter, he gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and a hug. Iranian outlets have reported that this meeting is considered adultery under local laws, as it is illegal to touch another woman while in a relationship. Rumors have also circulated online claiming that Ronaldo has been sentenced to “99 lashes” as a result of the incident.
Before meeting Ronaldo, Hamami had shared an image of the painting on her Instagram account on September 14, expressing her desire to meet the soccer star. Hamami, who is disabled, creates realistic paintings using her feet. The Iranian Embassy in Spain has denied the alleged reports of Ronaldo being charged, stating that no court ruling has been issued against any international athlete in Iran. The embassy also praised Ronaldo’s meeting with Hamami, describing it as sincere and humane.
Hamami released a statement on her Instagram account, addressing the controversy surrounding the incident. She stated that she and her family have no complaints about Ronaldo’s actions and emphasized that he embraced her with kindness, honor, and humanity.
