Complex Investigation Leads to Arrest in Gwinnett County Man’s Murder

Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit has made significant progress in the mysterious disappearance and murder of 21-year-old Leondre Flynt from Gwinnett County. Flynt went missing after leaving for a date in Buckhead with Destiny Stephens in July, and was never seen again. His family lost contact with him after July 29.

During the investigation, police discovered that Flynt had communicated with Audrey Zalky on the day he vanished. He reportedly navigated to the Marquis at Buckhead apartment complex at 214 Colonial Holmes Drive in Atlanta. A “shots fired” call was recorded at this location around the same time, where a resident reported a bullet hole in their unit. Ahmir Bobo, a resident of the apartment across, claimed a gun accidentally discharged while handled by a female friend.

Further investigation revealed Flynt’s vehicle entering a Lowe’s parking lot on Caroline Street in Atlanta. Surveillance footage showed Zalky and Stephens exiting Flynt’s car to purchase a hand saw and bolt cutters. Additionally, Ring doorbell footage captured a man moving items on a furniture dolly from Bobo’s apartment towards the elevators.

Police tracked Flynt’s vehicle to a CVS store in Detroit, near an address linked to Bobo’s Michigan ID card. However, the vehicle was not located. On August 16, apartment complex maintenance workers discovered blood around the fourth floor, leading to the parking garage.

Upon searching Bobo’s apartment, police found a furniture dolly and air mattress matching those in the surveillance footage, along with gun boxes and other evidence. Luminol testing in the apartment indicated significant bleeding. Zalky’s Instagram account revealed messages where she claimed to have been attacked in her apartment, resulting in the shooting and killing of her attacker.

The investigation suggests the involvement of Zalky, Stephens, and Bobo in Flynt’s murder and efforts to conceal it. Stephens has been arrested on charges of murder and concealing another’s death, with a $150,000 bond set. The search for Flynt’s shooter(s) continues, with further details pending.
