Lauren Dickason, who was convicted last month for the 2021 murder of her three daughters, Karla, Maya, and Liané, is set to be sentenced on 19 December by the High Court in Christchurch. The 42-year-old’s defense of insanity and infanticide was rejected by a jury after a four-week trial. The tragic incident occurred shortly after the Dickason family moved to New Zealand from South Africa. Following the guilty verdict, Detective Inspector Scott Anderson expressed profound sympathy for the lost lives and acknowledged the dedication and professionalism of the investigative team, as well as the continued support from the Timaru community and associated agencies.
