A woman is recovering after a car crashed into her home in Liberty, Missouri. The incident occurred on Sunday night when a police chase ended inside the residence. Nicole McClelland and her three children were inside the house at the time of the crash. Fortunately, they managed to escape unharmed. However, McClelland’s mother, who was in her room when the car crashed through, suffered injuries. She was pulled out of the house by neighbors and is currently hospitalized with a broken sternum, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and other fractures.
The Liberty Police Department received a call about officers from Sugarcreek chasing a car into town. By the time they arrived to assist, the car had already crashed into McClelland’s home. Police expressed frustration over the dangers posed by such pursuits and emphasized the importance of avoiding putting officers and citizens at risk.
The driver of the car was taken into custody that night. McClelland’s family is grateful that the incident did not result in more severe consequences. However, her mother still faces a long road to recovery.
