A residential burglary in Daly City has left one household devastated after more than $200,000 worth of jewelry, $700 in cash, and $500 worth of tools were stolen, according to a crime report released by the Daly City Police Department. The incident occurred on April 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. at a residence located on Woodland Avenue.

The unknown suspect(s) gained entry by shattering the rear glass sliding door, taking advantage of the absence of the homeowners. It remains unclear whether anyone was present at the time of the burglary. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The stolen items, including the valuable jewelry, cash, and tools, have not been recovered or returned to their rightful owner, as the Daly City Police Department did not mention any such developments in their report. The investigation into the burglary, which occurred near Fernando Rivera Middle School and Thomas Edison Elementary School, is currently ongoing.

During the week of April 1 to April 7, no other residential burglaries were reported in the area, as confirmed by the Daly City Police Department.

Residents of Daly City are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard their homes and belongings. The police department advises homeowners to ensure the security of their properties, especially when away, by implementing measures such as installing alarm systems, reinforcing doors and windows, and notifying trusted neighbors or authorities when leaving for extended periods.
