Bruins Star Milan Lucic and Wife File for Divorce Citing “Irreconcilable Differences”

Boston Bruins star Milan Lucic and his wife, Brittany Lucic, have officially filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to TMZ. The couple’s separation comes five months after an alleged domestic violence incident, which led to Milan’s arrest.

Brittany filed the divorce documents on Monday evening, listing the date of separation as November 17, 2023, the day before Milan’s arrest. The altercation reportedly began over the location of Milan’s phone, resulting in him allegedly physically abusing Brittany. Milan was subsequently charged with assault and battery on a family member, but the case was dismissed in February after Brittany chose not to testify against him.

In the divorce papers, Brittany has requested custody of their three children, two daughters named Valentina and Nikolina, and a son named Milan Jr. She has also asked for spousal support from Milan and requested that his visitation with the children be supervised.

Following the arrest, Milan took an indefinite leave of absence from the Bruins and has not played for the team since. The organization expressed its support for the Lucic family and stated that they would provide any necessary assistance. Head coach Jim Montgomery emphasized the seriousness of the matter and refrained from commenting further to respect the family’s privacy.

Milan, who is currently in his 17th season in the NHL, is missing out on the Bruins’ playoff run as they face the Maple Leafs in the first round. The teams are set to play Game 3 in Toronto on Wednesday at 7 p.m., with the series currently tied.
