Brooklyn Apartment Tragedy: Woman, Teen, and Dog Found Dead in Suspected Stabbing

A gruesome discovery was made in an East Flatbush apartment on New York Avenue on Monday, where a woman, a teenage girl, and a dog were found dead. Responding to a call around 2:30 p.m., police officers found a 37-year-old woman with facial slash wounds and a 14-year-old girl, believed to be her daughter, with severe head injuries. Both were declared dead on the scene. Disturbingly, a dog was also found deceased with a bag over its head.

The timeline and specifics of the killings remain unclear. However, a neighbor had alerted the police about disturbing noises from the apartment on Friday. “We heard screaming, the dog whimpering… it sounds like someone was getting killed upstairs,” recounted Steve Schor. Although officers responded to the Friday call, it remains uncertain if they established contact with the apartment’s occupants.

The grim scene was unveiled by a 38-year-old male acquaintance of the deceased woman, who hadn’t heard from the family since Friday. He forcefully entered the residence and then contacted the authorities. Police are currently questioning the man for further details. Investigations are ongoing.
