Brock Lesnar’s WWE Status Remains Uncertain Amidst Sexual Assault Lawsuit Allegations

PHILADELPHIA — The future of Brock Lesnar in WWE remains uncertain following his alleged involvement in a sexual assault and sex trafficking lawsuit filed against WWE Chairman Vince McMahon by former employee Janel Grant. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Lesnar, a 10-time world champion, was the unnamed wrestler mentioned in the lawsuit, which accused McMahon of sending explicit photos and videos of Grant to Lesnar.

During a post-WrestleMania 40 event, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, addressed Lesnar’s status with the company, stating that Lesnar is not officially done. Levesque mentioned that there had been discussions with Lesnar about his potential involvement in the Royal Rumble, but currently, Lesnar is taking time off and his future with WWE remains uncertain.

Grant’s lawsuit alleges that McMahon physically harmed her using his fists and other objects, including sex toys. She also claimed that McMahon and another WWE executive sexually assaulted her after locking her in a WWE office. Grant further accused McMahon of coercing her into sexual relationships to maintain her employment. McMahon resigned as executive chairman of TKO shortly after the lawsuit became public and has vehemently denied all allegations, calling them baseless and filled with lies.

Following the lawsuit’s revelation, WWE began distancing itself from Lesnar. He was initially expected to appear at the Royal Rumble but was ultimately replaced by Bron Breakker. WWE also removed Lesnar from the cover of the “40 Years of WrestleMania” special-edition cover of the new WWE 2K24 video game. Additionally, Lesnar and McMahon are not playable characters in the core game, although Lesnar can still be played in the 40 Years of WrestleMania Showcase mode. Furthermore, Lesnar was removed from the WWE Superstars mobile game.

Known for taking extended breaks from WWE, Lesnar enjoys spending time hunting and tending to his farm in Saskatchewan, Canada. His last wrestling match took place against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam in August. While Lesnar is not scheduled to appear at WrestleMania 40, surprises are always a possibility.

During his Hall of Fame speech, Lesnar’s former manager, Paul Heyman, mentioned Lesnar by name, further fueling speculation about his future in WWE.

In light of this, I would recommend supporting organizations that work towards preventing sexual assault and providing support to survivors, such as RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) in the United States. RAINN offers a 24/7 hotline, online chat, and resources for survivors and their loved
