Boyfriend of Author Bret Easton Ellis Arrested for Trespassing near West Hollywood Home

The longtime boyfriend of renowned author Bret Easton Ellis, Todd Michael Schultz, was apprehended on Tuesday on suspicion of trespassing near the couple’s residence in West Hollywood, according to a spokesperson from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Schultz, 37, is currently being held on felony charges at Twin Towers jail, a facility primarily designated for individuals with severe mental illnesses, as indicated by the sheriff’s department jail census website.

Schultz, an active user of Instagram, has frequently shared photos of himself and Ellis since 2013. Ellis, known for his bestselling novels “American Psycho” and “Less Than Zero,” has been in a relationship with Schultz for an extended period.

Just six days prior to his arrest, Schultz mentioned on his YouTube channel that the police had visited his home. During a livestream, he expressed his belief that fellow residents on his floor had been reporting him to the authorities.

Schultz is currently being held on a bail amount of $51,000, according to the sheriff’s department. An arraignment and plea hearing are scheduled for Tuesday.
