Bodycam footage obtained by authorities provides a chilling account of a kidnapping turned deadly in Fayetteville, Georgia. The tragic incident occurred on July 16th, just 30 minutes south of Atlanta.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Cameron Hopkins, allegedly abducted his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Kalia Jones, from her workplace at a Wingstop restaurant. Witnesses reported that Hopkins forcefully compelled Jones to leave her job and enter his car.
As the police responded to the distress call reporting the ongoing kidnapping, Hopkins initiated a high-speed chase, adding further danger to an already harrowing situation. It was during this pursuit that tragedy struck.
After crashing his vehicle, Hopkins mercilessly shot and killed Jones before attempting to escape.
