The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the discovery of a body wrapped in a carpet in Macomb, Oklahoma. It has been confirmed that the body is that of missing woman, Makayla Fay Meave-Byers. Meave-Byers, who was last seen on September 15, was the subject of a missing persons investigation.
The body of Meave-Byers was found under a large drainage culvert that runs beneath Hamilton Road, south of Oklahoma Highway 59B. Sheriff Mike Booth has confirmed that detectives are on the scene and have cordoned off the area. Authorities are proceeding cautiously towards the body to avoid disturbing any potential evidence.
According to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Meave-Byers left her home voluntarily in a white Chevy extended cab pickup with tinted windows. The driver was described as a tall male with balding hair and a dark-colored beard.
The investigation is still ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
