Body Found in Antioch Creek, Cause of Death Unknown

A body was discovered floating in an Antioch creek behind the 5700 block of Slatten Ranch Road on Sunday morning, according to a statement released by the Antioch Police Department. The deceased individual, a 38-year-old male, was found submerged in water by officers who arrived at the scene at approximately 11:15 a.m.

The cause of death remains unknown, pending an autopsy to be conducted by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office. The Antioch Police Department’s Investigations Bureau, along with crime scene investigators and Violent Crimes Unit detectives, are currently investigating the case.

In order to notify the family, the identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time. The Antioch Police Department urges anyone with information related to this incident to contact Detective Gragg at 925-779-6975 or via email at rgragg@antiochca.gov. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by texting 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword ANTIOCH.
