According to authorities, a bank branch on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland was robbed on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. at the Citibank branch at 4101 Piedmont Ave.
A man entered the bank, approached a teller, and claimed to be armed with a gun while demanding cash. The teller complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading westbound on 41st Street.
Described as a Black man in his 40s, approximately 6 feet tall, and weighing around 220 pounds, the robber had facial hair and was wearing blue jeans and a dark trench coat.
The Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for any information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Individuals with relevant information are urged to contact the police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
