Authorities in Indiana have launched an intensive search for Bryson Muir, the 14-year-old son of former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir. Bryson has been missing for two weeks, and Indiana State Police have issued a Silver Alert, considering him to be in immediate danger.
The last known sighting of Bryson was on June 16 when his mother drove him away from his grandmother’s home in Ohio. However, shortly after their departure, local police stopped the vehicle and discovered that Bryson was not present. This prompted an investigation into the teen’s parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, after his grandmother provided officials with a photograph allegedly showing Bryson with a blackened and swollen eye.
Daniel and Kristin Muir, labeled as persons of interest, had initially agreed to bring Bryson to Indianapolis State Police headquarters to meet with detectives and prove his well-being. However, they backed out of the arrangement just an hour before, which authorities interpreted as an unwillingness to cooperate.
The Muirs reside in Logansport, Indiana, on land owned by the Straitway Truth Ministries, a religious sect based in Tennessee that has been referred to as a cult by some. The group identifies as Hebrew Israelites and claims to be obedient to Yah and Jesus the Christ. Former NFL players, including Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila of the Green Bay Packers, have reportedly joined the group after renouncing their Christian faith.
Daniel Muir’s football career began in Indianapolis in 2008, and he later played for the New York Jets during the 2012-2013 season. He concluded his career with the Oakland Raiders in the 2013-2014 season.
