Authorities in Wasatch County, Utah, have uncovered a “chop shop operation” on a 100-acre property after tracking a stolen vehicle. The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a possible stolen vehicle on September 20. Using GPS, they located the vehicle near Wallsburg and obtained a search warrant for the residence.
During the search, law enforcement allegedly discovered multiple stolen vehicles, trailers, all-terrain vehicles, power tools, and other suspected stolen property. The Utah Department of Motor Vehicles confirmed that all inspected vehicles were indeed stolen. Additionally, tools consistent with committing burglaries and thefts were reportedly found.
Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. Tyler Boyd, James Hewitt, Trista Roxanne Samson, and Trenton Bailey Gates face charges related to vehicle theft, theft of property, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Samson and Gates have also been charged with obstructing justice and providing false information to an officer.
The search of the 100-acre property is still ongoing, and authorities continue to gather evidence.
