An illegal immigrant man, Jose Santiago Chairez, has been arrested for the shooting death of two sisters in their home in Farmers Branch, Dallas County, Texas. The incident occurred on November 24 at approximately 4:20 a.m. Chairez, 50, allegedly shot Catalina Valdez Andrade, 47, and Merced Andrade Bailon, 43, in the head inside their residence. Chairez’s daughter, who was also present at the time, was shot in the arm. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, as does the nature of Chairez’s relationship with the sisters and why his daughter was in their home.
Chairez was apprehended on the same day as the shooting and is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail. He faces charges of capital murder and aggravated assault. His bond has been set at over $2 million, and an immigration hold prevents his release.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further details have not been disclosed at this time.
