Arrest Made in August Shooting at Louisville’s Pussycat Lounge Leading to Employee’s Death

Rafael Ixcaco-son, 30, has been arrested and charged with murder related to a shooting incident at the Pussycat Lounge in Louisville. The shooting, which occurred on August 25, resulted in the death of lounge employee Terrance Mason. The incident took place on Poplar Level Road near Newburg.

According to police, Ixcaco-son and several others were expelled from the club before driving past the establishment. It was at this point that Ixcaco-son reportedly fired a shot into the air. Mason, in response, retrieved his own gun from inside the lounge. Police report that Ixcaco-son circled back and opened fire, with one bullet striking Mason in the back, causing immediate paralysis. Mason was dragged back into the bar for safety and later succumbed to his injuries at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.

The details of Mason’s age and the exact date of his death are pending, as WLKY awaits the coroner’s report. The entire incident was captured on the lounge’s surveillance system. Notably, Ixcaco-son returned to the club the following day, leaving his phone number, which assisted police in identifying him as a suspect and matching him to the surveillance footage.

Ixcaco-son is currently detained at Louisville Metro Corrections with a bond set at $500,000.
