Armed Men Open Fire at Crocus City Hall Concert Hall in Moscow Region

Three armed men unleashed gunfire inside the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the Moscow region, as reported by Russian state media agencies TASS and RIA Novosti. The exact number of casualties remains undisclosed at this time. According to RIA Novosti’s correspondent on the scene, individuals dressed in camouflage attire, numbering at least three, stormed the ground floor of Crocus City Hall and proceeded to open fire using automatic weapons. Additionally, RIA Novosti stated that the assailants threw either a grenade or an incendiary bomb, igniting a fire within the concert hall.

Video footage from the scene captured a massive plume of black smoke billowing from the engulfed building, which was ablaze. Firefighters successfully evacuated approximately 100 individuals from the premises, as reported by TASS. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation has confirmed ongoing rescue efforts to safely remove people from the roof. The Moscow Region Ministry of Health informed RIA Novosti that over 50 ambulance teams were dispatched to Krasnogorsk to provide medical assistance to those in need.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin expressed his condolences, referring to the incident as a “terrible tragedy.” In a statement, he assured that all necessary aid would be provided to the victims and their families.
