Armed Kentucky EMTs Detain Ax Attack Suspect; Victim Suffers Serious Injuries

In Olive Hill, Kentucky, a woman accused of attacking a man with an ax and damaging an emergency service station was subdued by armed Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). The Olive Hill Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday.

Kellie Boggs, 44, allegedly assaulted an unidentified man with an ax, leaving him with serious facial injuries. The victim was later found in a ditch behind the Carter County EMS station’s west base. Following the attack, Boggs reportedly proceeded to the EMT station where she smashed a glass door.

At the time of the attack, a group of EMTs were asleep inside the station. They quickly responded, managing to detain Boggs at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived. Boggs, a resident of the neighboring town of Grayson, has been charged with assault and criminal mischief. She is currently held at the Carter County Detention Center.

The injured man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his severe injuries. His current condition has not been disclosed.
