Apparent Murder-Suicide in Queens, Multiple Shootings in Bronx and East Harlem

In a tragic turn of events, an apparent murder-suicide took place in Queens, New York, while multiple shootings occurred in the Bronx and East Harlem. The incidents have left the communities shaken and authorities working diligently to uncover the details surrounding these violent acts.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) responded to a distressing 911 call on Friday afternoon, leading them to the lifeless bodies of Joseph Murphy, 38, and Kenisha Mirrison, 35, inside a residence located at 109-64 143rd Street in Jamaica. Both individuals had suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head, prompting the NYPD to classify the incident as an apparent murder-suicide. A firearm was discovered near the deceased man, and the investigation into the circumstances remains ongoing.

Meanwhile, in the Bronx, two separate shooting incidents occurred overnight, leaving three individuals injured. The first incident took place shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday outside 1702 Watson Ave. in Soundview. A 30-year-old man was struck in the foot and subsequently transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is reported to be in stable condition. The NYPD has not made any arrests in connection with this incident. The suspect, described as wearing an orange jacket, an orange hooded sweatshirt, and an orange hair covering, fled the scene in an unknown make and model of a vehicle.

Approximately an hour later, outside 254 Soundview Ave., two 18-year-old girls were victims of gunfire. One of the teens sustained a gunshot wound to the left hand, while the other was grazed in the hand and both legs. Both victims were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where they are in stable condition. The perpetrator, described as a man dressed in black, remains at large, and no arrests have been made.

In East Harlem, a man in his 30s was shot once in the chest around 12:05 a.m. on Saturday. The incident occurred at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and East 125th Street. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim, who was uncooperative with authorities, to Harlem Hospital. His condition is reported as stable, and no arrests have been made in connection with this shooting.
