The incident occurred on Monday around 2:30 p.m. on Grandview Avenue in Mariners Harbor, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was confronted by an unknown assailant who proceeded to hurl derogatory antisemitic slurs at him. The attacker then struck the victim on the head with a metal baseball bat, causing a laceration to the back of his head. The suspect, described as a 40-year-old male approximately 5 foot 11 inches tall, fled the scene heading north on Grandview Avenue towards Netherland Avenue. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force has taken charge of the investigation into this disturbing incident.
