An Amber Alert issued by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for a missing 6-year-old girl has been cancelled after she was found safe. The alert was issued on Sunday night at approximately 10:26 p.m., prompting authorities to ask the public to be on the lookout for the young girl.

The girl, described as a Black girl with black braided hair and brown eyes, was last seen wearing a rainbow jacket. She was believed to have been abducted and was reported to be in the company of a male suspect. The alert stated that they were last seen in a stolen 2015 White Jeep Compass with a broken passenger tail light.

Shortly after the alert was issued, the Aurora Police Department, with the assistance of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, took a suspect into custody. However, no further information about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the search has been provided, as an ongoing investigation is underway.

A surveillance photo of the suspect near the stolen vehicle, which was taken from a gas station at Iliff Avenue and Havana Street, was released by the Aurora Police Department. The prompt response from law enforcement and the public led to the safe recovery of the young girl.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced at approximately 10:34 p.m. that the girl had been located and was found to be unharmed. The cancellation of the Amber Alert brings relief to the community, as the immediate action taken by authorities resulted in a positive outcome.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of Amber Alerts and the vital role the public plays in assisting law enforcement during such emergencies.
