Alleged Serial Stalker Targets Victims Across Multiple States, Including California and Florida

A series of alleged stalking incidents has left victims across multiple states, including California and Florida, in fear for their safety. The accused, Joseph Bryce Freeman, is believed to be a 25-year-old serial stalker residing in the Los Angeles area. Victims claim that Freeman has targeted them with a barrage of threatening phone calls and texts, often making wild and baseless accusations.

One victim, videographer Thomas Roark, experienced the impact of Freeman’s harassment firsthand during a business meeting with a potential client from Blenders Eyewear. Freeman’s profane and threatening phone call disrupted the meeting, leaving Roark shocked and unable to secure the long-term contract he had hoped for.

Freeman’s alleged stalking spree extended beyond Roark, with at least 18 other individuals in San Diego, Orange County, Connecticut, Florida, and Texas reporting similar harassment. Some victims even expressed concerns about Freeman attempting to access restricted areas of airplanes and airports where he was not authorized to be.

The victims, who initially did not know each other, eventually formed a support group and compiled extensive evidence of Freeman’s actions, including hundreds of phone calls, text messages, and videos. In May, they collectively filed a lawsuit against American Airlines and its regional carrier, Envoy Air, alleging that Freeman’s employment allowed him access to their confidential passenger information. The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages.

Freeman’s motive for the alleged stalking remains unclear. He did not demand ransom from the victims but instead seemed to seek friendship, reacting negatively when rejected. Some victims also received videos from Freeman, showcasing his access to commercial aircraft and engaging in unauthorized activities within the cabin.

Despite victims’ efforts to seek justice, there have been limited attempts to hold Freeman accountable. Previous charges in Florida and Washington state were not pursued by prosecutors. The victims have reached out to the FBI, but no arrests or charges have been reported.

Freeman’s employment history includes positions as a customer service representative and fleet service clerk for American Airlines in California, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Tampa. He also worked for G2 Secure Staff as a skycap in Tampa and an aircraft cabin service worker in Portland, Oregon. However, the accuracy of these claims could not be independently verified.
