Amidst the ongoing involuntary manslaughter trial in New Mexico, actor Alec Baldwin’s Long Island home remains on the market, with a significant reduction in price. The trial revolves around the fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the set of a Western film in October 2021. The incident occurred when a prop gun, unknowingly loaded with live ammunition, discharged while Baldwin was holding it. Tragically, the cinematographer, aged 42, lost her life.
Baldwin has consistently maintained his innocence, asserting that he did not pull the trigger and was unaware of the presence of live rounds in the prop gun. Currently incarcerated, the 66-year-old actor listed his 10,000-square-foot home for sale in November 2022, initially asking for just over $29 million. Despite multiple price reductions, he has been unable to find a buyer. The financial strain resulting from job losses and legal expenses has been cited as the reason for the sale by some sources. However, a close insider denies any financial difficulties, stating that the house has been on the market for two years. It is worth noting that the house was listed after the “Rust” shooting incident.
The property’s price was slashed to $24.9 million in January 2023, followed by a further reduction to $22.5 million in March. Subsequently, the home was temporarily taken off the market, only to be relisted in January 2024 at $18.9 million. As of July, the house remains unsold at the same price, with Saunders & Associates handling the sale.
In a house tour video released in January, Baldwin expressed his fondness for the property, stating, “I fell in love with this place the moment I came here. You just can’t get this out here anymore, you can’t buy big pieces of land.”
