Abduction and Police Pursuit in Shelby Township Leads to One Arrest

In a dramatic turn of events on Monday, police apprehended a man linked to the abduction of a 24-year-old individual in Shelby Township. The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Lifetime Fitness gym on 14843 Lakeside Boulevard.

Authorities believe the incident was targeted, with the young man seized by four armed individuals. Sterling Heights police, informed of the situation, spotted the suspect vehicle near Dearing Drive and initiated a pursuit. The chase, lasting half a mile, culminated in the vehicle crashing at 15 Mile and Maple Lane.

Three individuals, an adult male and two juveniles, fled the crash site. The adult was subsequently arrested, while the juveniles, believed to be uninvolved in the abduction, managed to escape. Police discovered the abducted 24-year-old man, bound but with only minor injuries, inside the crashed vehicle, along with a loaded rifle.

The suspect is currently held at the Macomb County Jail awaiting charges. As the investigation continues, three suspects remain at large.
