Abducted Baby Found Dead, Father Arrested in Idaho Murder Case

An abducted 10-month-old baby, Zeke Gregory Best, was found dead in a wooded area in Idaho. The baby’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, who was a suspect in the murder of the baby’s mother, was spotted naked nearby. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office reported that hunters called to report a man making odd statements while naked in a sleeping bag on the side of the road. The naked man was identified as Jeremy Albert Best, who was wanted in connection with the killing of his wife, Kali Jean Randall.

Deputies found the deceased baby down an embankment off a roadway east of Idaho Falls. Prior to this, an Amber Alert had been issued for the missing child, warning that Best was believed to be heavily armed and driving a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe with Idaho plates.

The incident began when deputies responded to a disturbance call at a home in Victor, Idaho, where they found Kali Jean Randall dead. Best had fled the home with their infant son, prompting the Amber Alert. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police, and FBI agents are assisting in the investigation.

Jeremy Albert Best was evaluated at the scene and taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for further medical and mental health concerns. He was later discharged from the hospital. Best’s Chevrolet SUV was found down the embankment where the baby was located. The cause of the infant’s death has not been disclosed.

After being taken into custody, Best was treated at the scene and booked into the Bonneville County Jail. He will remain in jail until his arraignment. The investigation is ongoing.
