A$AP Rocky, the rapper known for hits like “Fashion Killa” and “L$D,” is now facing a defamation lawsuit filed by former A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli. Relli has accused Rocky of shooting him in 2021, and Rocky is currently facing two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
In the new lawsuit, Relli names both Rocky and his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, as defendants. Relli alleges that Tacopina “went on a press campaign” after the alleged shooting and defamed his name in the process. Relli claims that Tacopina, at the direction of Rocky, portrayed him as “a liar, a money grabber, and an extortionist.” These actions have allegedly led to death threats and ridicule against Relli. He is seeking unspecified damages.
Joe Tacopina, when asked about the new lawsuit, stated that there is still no word on when Rocky will return to court for the assault charges. If convicted, Rocky could face up to 9 years in prison.
