60-Year-Old Man Assaulted and Slashed by Group of Strangers in Bronx Park

In an unprovoked assault, a 60-year-old man exercising in Devoe Park in the Bronx was beaten and slashed by six individuals on Friday, according to the New York Police Department. The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. near Webb Avenue and Father Zeiser Place.

The victim was suddenly attacked by four men and two women, who commenced to physically assault him and then proceeded to slash his face with a blade. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene in two dark-colored four-door sedans, last seen heading north on University Avenue.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he received treatment for minor injuries. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack.

Police have released surveillance images of the suspects, hoping for public assistance in identifying them. The suspects are described as Black, with two men wearing black jackets and pants, a third man in a white T-shirt and grey jeans, and a fourth in a black jacket and grey jeans. The two women were seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans and a white T-shirt with white sweatpants, respectively.

The NYPD is appealing to anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Assurances have been given that all calls will be kept confidential as the investigation continues to apprehend those responsible for this unprovoked attack.
