4-Year-Old Girl Stable After Serious Crash During Street Racing Incident in Provo

Provo, Utah – A 4-year-old girl who was involved in a serious crash during a street racing incident on I-15 over the weekend is now in stable condition, according to authorities. The incident occurred near mile marker 265 in Provo on Saturday, Feb. 17, when a red Subaru WRX, reportedly engaged in a street race, lost control and collided with the concrete barriers on both sides of the highway.

The young girl, who was a passenger in the Subaru, was found to be unrestrained at the time of the crash. Although her injuries were deemed serious, they were not life-threatening. The driver of the Subaru, identified as the mother’s boyfriend, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants and has been booked into the Utah County Jail. The driver, whose name has not been released, is also facing charges related to the street racing incident.

Authorities are currently working with the county attorney’s office to determine if any potential charges will be filed against the girl’s mother, who may have been present in the vehicle during the crash. Investigators have also questioned another alleged racer who was driving a red Dodge Charger, thanks to witness reports. The second driver is also expected to face charges related to the street racing incident.

The Utah Highway Patrol is urging drivers to prioritize safety and avoid engaging in illegal street racing activities. Street racing poses a significant risk to both participants and innocent bystanders, as demonstrated by this unfortunate incident.   1. This is absolutely sickening. How could anyone be so reckless and selfish as to engage in street racing, putting innocent lives at risk? It’s beyond infuriating to think that a 4-year-old girl had to suffer the consequences of someone’s dangerous and irresponsible behavior. I hope those responsible are held accountable for their actions and that this little girl makes a full recovery. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for stricter laws and harsher penalties to deter street racing and protect innocent lives
