3-Year-Old Boy Found Dead with Head Injuries in Brooklyn Apartment

A tragic incident unfolded in a Brooklyn apartment on Sunday night, as a 3-year-old boy was discovered dead with head injuries. The child had been left in the care of a neighbor residing upstairs from their own apartment in East Flatbush, according to sources and the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Around 9:45 p.m., authorities were alerted to the unconscious and unresponsive toddler inside an apartment on New York Avenue near Snyder Avenue. Shockingly, the child was found in a neighboring unit, not the one where he had been dropped off by his mother, as confirmed by the NYPD and sources. The young boy was immediately rushed to Kings County Hospital Center, but tragically, he was pronounced dead.

Prior to the incident, the child’s mother had entrusted her son to a 54-year-old man residing upstairs, as per police sources. However, it was within the neighboring apartment that the child was discovered with severe head injuries, leading to suspicions surrounding the circumstances of his death. The sources further revealed that the neighbor’s stepson, aged 29, was taken into custody for questioning. Additionally, the younger man was wanted on a warrant related to a previous petit larceny, according to the sources.
