20-Year-Old Punxsutawney Man Charged with Murder of Girlfriend in Clover Township

Police have charged Dakota Hamner Greeley, a 20-year-old man from Punxsutawney, with murder after he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend, Trisha Renee Cole, in Clover Township, Jefferson County. Greeley is facing charges of criminal homicide, murder, and two counts of terroristic threats.

State police from the Punxsutawney barracks responded to the scene on Thursday morning following a report of the murder and a possible “suicide by cop” threat. Greeley confronted troopers at the scene, firing two shots before fleeing in a vehicle. He later crashed in a wooded area and was subsequently arrested.

The murder weapon, a 30/30 lever action rifle, was recovered from the vehicle. Trisha Renee Cole was found with a gunshot wound to the head. During questioning by the police, Greeley admitted to shooting her.
