A high-speed motorcycle chase in California escalated as the rider reached speeds of 140 mph. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported sustained speeds around 100 mph before halting the ground pursuit for safety reasons. Subsequently, aerial surveillance was deployed. The chase concluded when a CHP officer, seizing an opportunity at a traffic stop, dismounted the suspect from the motorcycle.
