12-Year-Old Girl Stabbed in Bronx Middle School Classroom

A 12-year-old girl was stabbed in the leg inside a classroom at Intermediate School 123, the James M. Kieran school, in the Bronx on Wednesday. The incident occurred after the victim taunted another girl on TikTok over a boy, according to sources. Police were called to the scene and found the injured child with a slash or puncture wound to her right leg. She was promptly transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where she is expected to recover.

A 14-year-old girl was taken into custody at the school, and charges are pending. It remains unclear if the girl in custody is the same girl the victim taunted. The knife used in the attack was recovered by the NYPD. It is worth noting that I.S. 123 does not have scanning procedures in place.

This incident follows another violent episode that occurred in Midwood, Brooklyn, where a 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with attempted murder. In response to the attack, the police conducted a “reverse scanning” of the student body.

The investigation into the stabbing at I.S. 123 is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
