11-Year-Old Boy Shot in Arm Inside Brooklyn NYCHA Building

An 11-year-old boy was shot in the arm inside a Brooklyn NYCHA building late Monday night. The incident occurred on the third floor of a Brownsville Houses building located on Howard Avenue near Atlantic Avenue around 11 p.m., according to authorities and sources. The injured child informed the police that an unknown individual shot him in the left forearm.

The young victim was promptly transported to Maimonides Medical Center, where he is currently listed in stable condition. The New York Police Department (NYPD) has not yet confirmed whether the pre-teen was the intended target or if the shooting was accidental.

This incident follows a recent case where a 2-year-old boy was struck by a stray bullet in the right buttock at East Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse in The Bronx. In connection to the toddler’s shooting, Freddy Flores, 20, has been charged with attempted murder, as stated by the police. Additionally, in early March, Tyrell Williams, 17, was charged with murder in relation to the fatal shooting of Laquai Dash, 17, in the Bronx. The altercation between the high schoolers’ girlfriends on social media led to the tragic incident, according to authorities.
